| A few years ago, we decided to create a site that would display the hottest events around. www.AllAboutTheHookup.com was born and we began compiling information from all over the country to list on our site. We noticed that other cities had tons of events and information to list, but our host city could not claim such a thriving social scene. From this we have channeled our energies into the Birmingham social scene and hosted some truly unique events. www.AllAboutTheHookup.com has contributed to the promotion and conceptualization of some of the hottest events in the city. With thousands of hits and feedback from LA, New York, Texas, and internationally that Birmingham, Al looks like an exciting place to be. RODERICK PARKER
Roderick Parker adds another element to the highly successful and talented group. With his internet venture AllAboutTheHookup.com, Mr. Parker has given a spotlight to the events in Birmingham and surrounding regional cities. His passion is the creation of viable entertainment options for metro Birmingham. Just a few years ago, he was one of the first promoters to showcase some of the diversity of the cultures in Birmingham while serving as creative coordinator for the 22nd Street Jazz Cafe. The 22nd Street Jazz Cafe was quickly awarded the Best Place to Listen to Jazz in the City by Birmingham Magazine and The Black and White Newspaper. In a very brief time he co-created Urban Groovz (a monthly neo-soul and spoken word event) and welcomed both Latin and Caribbean nights back to the city. All three events sparked movements and continue in various forms to this day. He has had dealings with jazz and blues musicians and artists (Ona Watson, Robert Moore, Foxxy Fatts, and Oteil Burbage), R&B acts (Kem, Jagged Edge, 112, Toni Braxton, Tamia, Chante Moore, Patti Labelle, D'Angelo, Carl Thomas Goapele, and Eric Roberson), hip hop artists (Master P, Trina, Jermaine Dupri, L'il Zane, P. Diddy, Ice Cube, Public Enemy, J. T. Money, Outkast, Goodie Mob, T.I., Young Dro and others), and pop artists such as U2 and Destiny's Child. While promoting shows and events in 2002 he became a friend and longtime supporter of the 2003 American Idol, Ruben Studdard and his band Just a Few Cats. Mr. Parker has gift for finding and exposing rare talent in its early stages and hopes to bring the same energy to Spoiled Rotten Entertainment. He is constantly in contact with other promoters in Atlanta and Nashville on developing new concepts for the urban culture in various cities.
